Viroqua to put war to a vote
VIROQUA, Wis. — Either the Viroqua City Council or the residents of the city soon will weigh in on the war in Iraq.

A group of citizens has gathered the necessary signatures to force the council to vote on a resolution to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq or place the question on the ballot this fall.

David Wennlund of Readstown and Anita Zibton of Viroqua circulated the “petition for direct legislation” that reads “Resolved: The United States should bring all military personnel home from Iraq now.”
