Fumi Johns Stewart, Master of Ceremonies will introduce special guests including Kathleen and Sarah Burkinshaw, second and third generation Hibakusha atomic bomb survivors, Monica Willard from Voices for a World Free of Nuclear Weapons, Dot Maver – Global Silent Minute, Kristin Hoffmann singer songwriter who will close the program along with music and sacred temple dancing.
On August 27 at 7 p.m. Central, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign will host an online program featuring atomic bomb survivor testimony.
"This event is co-hosted by the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and moderated by Naomi Satoh. We will be joined by Ms. Teruko Yahata, who will share her story. If you plan to attend this event, I ask that you take the time to complete the short RSVP Google Form (linked below).
"This event is an online opportunity (for those located outside of Japan) to hear a first-hand testimony from a survivor of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in World War II. This event serves as an opportunity to learn, listen, and better understand the experiences of A-bomb survivors. There will be a 40-minute talk from an A-bomb survivor and 15 minutes following for a question and answer session."
