Along with temperatures, the Grow Solar La Crosse program is heating up! With incentives set to expire and participation benchmarks being surpassed, there's never been a better time to jump onboard and pursue more affordable solar this year.
The 30% tax credit for new solar installations has been removed by recent legislation: this means that it will no longer be available starting next year. So if you have ever considered solar before, purchasing your system before the end of this year can result in big savings that will be gone soon. Don't delay: sign up and get into our installer's queue today!
If you're new to the program, attending one of our remaining Solar Power Hour presentations is the best place to begin. You'll learn how the program works, get questions answered and find out if your property might be a good fit. Register for an upcoming presentation below!
Have you previously been to a presentation? Sign up today to hear from our installer, Ethos Green Power Cooperative about scheduling a site assessment.

Eighty years ago, the United States dropped nuclear bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
This article from The Conversation, Survivors’ voices 80 years after Hiroshima and Nagasaki sound a warning and a call to action includes background and explanation of the modern disarmament movement.
This article was written in 1946 for The New Yorker by John Hersey. The power of the piece is discussed in this article from LitHub by Greg Mitchell. Mitchell reports, "In a note to readers, the editors explained that they had taken this extraordinary step based on the conviction that most people still did not recognize the profoundly different power of this weapon—'the almost total obliteration of a city'—and now 'might well take time to consider the terrible implications of its use.'"
From the mailbox:
The Houston County DFL would like to invite you to walk (or ride!) with us in the Applefest Parade in La Crescent on September 21st and to our Social afterwards at 2:30 in Wieser Park. We're awaiting approval to have a Mobilize sign up, but for now we have a Facebook event for each:
Parade: https://www.facebook.com/events/750565054330478
Social: https://www.facebook.com/events/1137721048277894
We'd love to get in touch. We're trying to expand our reach to the broader area (last weekend we were in Decorah, IA for Nordic Fest. Hopefully some of the Winneshiek County Dems will come walk with us, too!) Lots of people travel to come to the King Apple Parade. This year, La Crescent is hosting the Gravel National Bike Championships. We expect an even bigger crowd of parade watchers than usual!
This Tuesday For Our Future Wisconsin is partnering with Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin for an event on how the recently passed reconciliation bill affects their funding and our healthcare.
