Enduring Families

A patchwork of local history.

The Enduring Families Project brings to life the stories of 19th Century African Americans who lived in La Crosse and the surrounding area: a presidential candidate, a politically active farmer, a vaudeville musician, a women's boarding house owner, several barbers, including one woman who owned her own barbershop. These stories, told through reenactments, run the gamut of life experiences in 19th Century La Crosse.

Presented by the Enduring Families Project which is generously sponsĂșored by the La Crosse County Historical Society.

Performances in May 24 and May 25 at the La Crosse Community Theater, 428 Front Street South.
