The artist reception will feature traditional Native American Tribal dances with singing and drumming by Winnebago Sons.
Evening Timeline:
5:00-6:00 p.m. - Meet the artists and mingle in the gallery with complimentary snacks provided.
6:00-7:00 p.m. - Theater Performances by the Winnebago Sons and Ho-Chunk singers and Dancers.
People of the Woodland Tribes
A visual arts exhibition featuring the work of indigenous artists, curated by tribal member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, Robert Blackdeer. Featured artists include George Greendeer, Josiah Thunder, Levi Black deer, Verna Blackdeer and Robert Blackdeer. Their work ranges across multiple mediums, such as beadwork, drum making, deer skin hide and jewelry, as well as across both traditional and contemporary themes and practices.
