Vote Nov. 5

Vote November 5. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Find your polling place, learn what's on your ballot, and more at https://myvote.wi.gov

MTU buses are free on Election Day. Rides to the polls are available through the La Crosse County Democratic Party or through national organizations: ChargeTheVote offers EV rides and Ride2Vote will match you with a local volunteer driver.

Take a photo ID (like a driver's license, passport, or certain student IDs) to vote.

You can register at the polls or update your registration if needed (take a driver's license or approved official document showing your current address to register).

Many organizations encourage a NO vote on the state referendum. Here's a good explainer about it from UW Law School

Because the school district has not yet completed its climate action plan, a no vote on the school referendum will send a message that climate action and carbon emissions consequences of demolition and building must take a higher priority than did not consider it as the district moves forward.

Please, vote so Project 2025, the TheoBros, Project Esther, Agenda 47, and the orange fascist do not control our climate, justice, health, economic, education, environmental, commerce, personal rights, and human rights future. For most of us, it's not an easy or a joyful vote, alas.

"Every four years we are told that this election may be our last. We were told that in 2016. Back then, I was a teller, and few believed me. By 2020, people understood the danger and voted to protect democracy. But the assumption was that once in power, Biden would remedy the conditions that allowed a career criminal and his cohort to take power, instead of acting as a de facto accomplice.

"Now it’s 2024 and officials are not even pretending to care. Eight years take a toll. Americans trust each other less, love each other less, blame each other more. People should blame the institutions that betrayed us instead. They do not work for us and they are not sentimental about our survival." - Sarah Kendzior, Totem and Taboo
