Habitat Double Feature

 

Join Habitat for Humanity on Sunday, November 10 for a free double feature at The Rivoli Theater. Hosted by Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region, you’ll hear about efforts happening locally and ways to get involved. 

This is a FREE event with any donations benefiting the ReNew the Block project. 

There will be a raffle in between the showings with great prizes thanks to local partners like Larson’s General, Smith’s Bike Shop, and more!

2:30 PM – Kiss the Ground is an inspiring and groundbreaking film that reveals the first viable solution to our climate crisis. This movie is positioned to catalyze a movement to accomplish the impossible – to solve humanity’s greatest challenge, to balance the climate and secure our species future. By regenerating the world’s soils, we can completely and rapidly stabilize Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems and create abundant food supplies. Using compelling graphics and visuals, along with striking NASA and NOAA footage, the film artfully illustrates how, by drawing down atmospheric carbon, soil is the missing piece of the climate puzzle. Watch the trailer

5:00 PM – Common Ground is the highly anticipated sequel to Kiss the Ground, which fuses journalistic expose’ with deeply personal stories from those on the front lines of the food movement to unveil a dark web of money, power, and politics behind our broken food system. The film reveals how unjust practices forged our current farm system in which farmers of all colors are literally dying to feed us. The film profiles a hopeful and uplifting movement of white, black, and indigenous farmers who are using alternative “regenerative” models of agriculture that could balance the climate, save our health, and stabilize America’s economy – before it’s too late. Watch the trailer.
