Every Thursday, Indivisible co-founders Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg help wade through the week’s news, answer your questions, and provide timely calls to action. Register here for the March 20 2 p.m. call.
What we can do now.
1. A very important election is coming on April 1. Judge Susan Crawford is running for a State Supreme Court seat. She's running against Elon Musk's $10+ million in GOTV and ads for a MAGA sycophant. Who controls the 2026 Wisconsin elections controls the future. Get involved in this election now! Plan to vote and encourage and help others vote.
2. Regular visibility events are a way to bring attention to the ongoing coup. Thursdays from noon to 12:30 at Fourth & Main, Women in Black hold a silent vigil. Fridays from noon to 1 p.m stand at the Social Security Building, 210 Seventh St S, to highlight the harms to our country by the Trump slash & burn operation being led by Elon Musk. This Friday, March 21, protect immigrants.
3. Call Congress. Derrick Van Orden is not doing his job - he refuses to hold or attend in-person, open to the public events. He has backed out of scheduled events and falsely claims paid agitators are forcing him to hide. Call and tell his staff we want an in-person town hall meetings where he must face his constituents and hear directly how his actions are affecting us. Washington office: Phone: (202) 225-5506. La Crosse office: (608) 782-2558.
Tammy Baldwin voted NO on the awful continuing resolution. Call and thank her. But, her leader, Schumer, and eight Democratic colleagues voted for it. They have no apparent plan to use Congressional tools to lead the fight against The Great Dismantling. Tell her to call for new leadership and to start communicating how voters can support the opposition. Senate Democrats have had months, if not years, to plan an opposition to Trump². Instead, they continue to throw up their hands and plead powerlessness. Worse, they continue to fundraise off of their fecklessness. DC: 202-224-5653. La Crosse: 608-796-0045.
4. Join together to support and protect those who are being hurt, to inform those who still don't get it, and to demonstrate resistance and invite others to resist. Share info about events you know of.
April 5 is a national "HAND OFF!" Day of Action. Email Coulee Progressive if you can help organize in La Crosse or sign up to attend an organizing call on Friday at 2 p.m.
"There is never time in the future in which we will work out our salvation. The challenge is in the moment. The time is always now.” - James Baldwin.
