Cyclist action

From City of La Crosse:

You are invited to join the City of La Crosse in promoting education and safety for young and learning cyclists during the City-Wide Bike Rodeo at Myrick Park (lower level) on Thursday, July 23, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Bike Rodeos are a great way for kids (and parents) to learn about safe bicycling practice through skills activities and additional exhibits and organizations.

These gathering offers organizations and businesses a unique opportunity to engage with local families, promote health and safety, and showcase your commitment to community well-being. By participating as a sponsor, volunteer, or vendor, you'll not only gain visibility and foster goodwill but also contribute to an event that inspires the next generation of cyclists. Whether you're providing resources, hands-on support, or showcasing your products and services, your involvement will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of this cherished community tradition. For additional information or interest in volunteering please contact Jenna Dinkel and dinkelj@cityoflacrosse.org. The sign up form is here: https://tinyurl.com/laxbikerodeovol72326 or email.

Let's pedal together towards a healthier, more connected La Crosse!

City Requests Input on Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Amendment

The City of La Crosse announced that it will soon amend the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan and invited residents to provide their input.

Two open houses will take place on Tuesday, July 28 at the La Crosse Public Library, with the first session from noon to 1 p.m., followed by a 5 to 6 p.m. evening session. Participants will review maps and provide input on potential changes to the connectivity network.

“The Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan is a living document that should be updated regularly,” said Associate Planner Jenna Dinkel. “This year, there is a need for updates that allow for robust implementation and flexibility.”

Potential changes and updated maps can be found on the City of La Crosse website. Residents who are unable to attend in person can offer feedback by completing a brief survey.
