Demonstrate, then Act

The energy we get from big demonstrations is amazing. It makes us feel powerful and ecstatic, connected and invincible. Great!

And, if you still need more big rally energy, another event is being planned for April 19. Keep up on that action here.

But the recharge needs to power the charge - the charge to protect vulnerable populations against illegal kidnapping and attacks, the work to ensure state and national politicians don't block voting rights or make it even harder for people to vote, the initiatives to push for more housing and food accessibility, the work to protect environmental and climate action gains.

We could have a demonstration every week (in fact, we already have two every week!) but you're invited to move beyond the high of the big rally to the work of fighting a coup.

Take that demonstration energy now and do 5calls.org every day. Use that energy for a comment to the state's Joint Finance Committee that is sitting on $4 billion state dollars that could be making life better for students, the environment, and institutions. Transform the energy into organizing your neighbors to understand what's going on and how they can help. Use the energy to bring voters to local Congressional offices every day.

We wave a flag to get attention. What actions should we take after attention has been given?

Do that now.

And, by the way, remember that many of us  live in a bubble.
