Land Back & Hands Off Medicaid

[Screenshot from pay- walled La Crosse Tribune article from April 4. There doesn't seem to be a county board input or information site about this specific issue.]

At a meeting tonight, the La Crosse County Board will consider three proposals for county farm land it is planning to sell. One offer is being made by the Ho-Chunk Nation whose members were illegally removed from their land more than 150 years ago.

You might consider emailing the board of  supervisors about taking a small step to right a wrong. Many government and public agencies have taken to making "land acknowledgememts" at the beginnings of their meetings. Here's a chance to make those words into action.

Email the county board using this address (emails ALL county board supervisors): countyboardsupervisors@lacrossecounty.org

In addition, the county board will consider a resolution opposed to Medicaid cuts in April. If you can attend the board committee meetings on Tuesday, April 8 (Veterans Aging and Long Term Care at 5 p.m. and Health and Human Services at 6 p.m. both in the County Admin building, room 1107) to speak in favor of supporting the resolution, please do. OR email the supervisors with your support. (Thanks, Nate!)
